Years ago I made cakes for friends. At some point caking became a business. Years later, (September 2015, to be specific), a friend asked if I would make something other than a cake for her daughter’s birthday. I agreed to do whatever she wanted – I’m always up for a challenge. She decided on decorated cookies, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Anna’s daughter was having an art party, so art supply cookies seemed like a logical design. I ordered a few cookie cutters online and figured out how to make icing correctly. I’d decorated cookies before, but had never been successful at finding the correct consistency so the icing didn’t spill over the sides. Now I HAD to get it right.
Anna loved the cookies and shared on her social media channels. My business flipped almost overnight from “healthier sweet treats” of all kinds to decorated cookies.
